Description

Young nursery-grown Pseudocydonia sinensis seedling, 3–4 years old, sold in a 1.5-liter round plastic pot.
Height approximately 40–50 cm, trunk diameter at the base approx. 3–5 mm depending on the specimen. Chinese quince is highly appreciated by Japanese professionals and enthusiasts for its pinkish spring foliage, which turns bright green in summer and fiery red-orange in autumn, as well as for the beauty of its bark and the brilliance of its yellow fruits. The fast growth of this species allows the development of large specimens in a relatively short time. It is essential to choose the future tree style from the end of the first year of cultivation. Wiring this still-flexible trunk will allow you to create movement and define the future design of the tree. We strongly recommend continuing cultivation in akadama soil, with monthly fertilization from May to November, using either Biogold or organic fertilizer pellets.
