Description
Hot Blonde' was found by the brothers at MR MAPLE a fortuitous hybrid between Acer oliverianum and a golden Japanese palmate maple. The result is a beautiful golden yellow straight Japanese maple with an orange spring border. 'Hot Blonde' becomes increasingly yellow as the season progresses. 'Hot Blonde' is a strong and vigorous growing tree, reaching 3 to 4 meters in 10 years. The fall color of 'Hot Blonde' is an intense fiery red. Last fall, the fall color on 'Hot Blonde' lasted from mid-October through mid-December even in our warm and cool settings. This may be one of our best introductions to date. Hot Blonde' will make a great focal point, or a tall golden yellow tree to bring out the reds and greens in your landscape.
'Hot Blonde' is one of the most heat resistant Japanese maples we produce. This heat tolerance allows gardeners to bring more ornamental appeal to the southwest exposure in the southern garden. Southern gardeners have been looking for this Japanese maple for years. This cultivar should be propagated by grafting onto Acer palmatum. ' Introduction in Europe GUY MAILLOT.
