Small perennial plant with thick, glossy leaves of Japanese origin.The trina variety produces bright ivory flowers with gold in the center from mid-October to late November, depending on the variety and the arrival of cold weather. The flowers resemble the shape of the kanji 'dai,' from which its name [Daimonjisô] is derived. Abundant flowering in panicles on stems 15 to 25 centimeters tall. The inflorescence is composed of 3 small oval upper petals and 2 much longer lower petals. Height ranges from 10 to 25 cm depending on the variety.
